Thank you for a great league

05 Nov 2011 / Comments Off / in Fall League 2011/by Jim R

With another Metro Indy Basketball Fall League in the books, it’s time to focus on the school season. We thank all the players, coaches, officials and parents, as well as the Noblesville Boys and Girls’ Club for all their tremendous support.

Each year the MIBFL has grown and added features. Next year we will continue to do so with the addition of a middle school division. If you’re interested in the 2012 league, please click on any of the Registration links located in this site.

Thanks again for another great league!

Thursday, 5:45pm update

29 Sep 2011 / Comments Off / in Fall League 2011/by Jim R

Rosters are completed, but due to my schedule for the evening, I won’t be able to get back to them until after 8:30pm. They should be posted pretty close to 9:00pm. The schedule will be posted soon after that.

Wednesday night update

28 Sep 2011 / Comments Off / in Fall League 2011/by Jim R

After trying to close off registration at 1:20pm this afternoon, we picked up enough registrations for the addition of two teams. We have five to seven spots left, and that’s it. We have enough now for 18 teams, so our end game would be 18 teams of 9 players each.

That may push two games into a 4pm game slot, and I’ll be working on that schedule throughout the day on Thursday. Worst case, I’ll get the rosters up and the first week of games. HOWEVER, please check back Saturday night to make sure your son didn’t change teams.

Once I post the rosters and schedule, I’ll email everyone.

I’m looking forward to getting the 2011 league started.

Thank you for your participation.

Small update about schedule and rosters

27 Sep 2011 / Comments Off / in Fall League 2011/by Jim R

We are set to have the rosters and schedule put together by Thursday evening. At 141 participants, our desired number is 144, 16 teams of 9 players each, and we have a number of players who have expressed interest but have yet to register. Like last year we’ve had a late rush, and in trying to keep the rosters balanced, some additions would affect that greatly.

We’re entering the home stretch before the start of the 5th annual Metro Indy Basketball Fall League. Registrations are still being accepted, and we’re excited about those who have registered, as well as those who have expressed their commitment to play.

All those who have approached us about playing, please make sure you register online. We need to get your registration information.

Those who still need to pay their league fee can also pay online. If you intend to pay via check, please email me at basketball (at) metroindybasketball (dot) com.

In the mean time, take a look at who has registered so far.

Looking forward to another exciting league!

Great opening night of the league

05 Oct 2010 / Comments Off / in Fall League/by Jim R

The best thing that can happen in a league like this is competitive games, and that’s what we had. Three teams emerged with two wins, and while three teams went 0-2, only one game had a larger point spread than 6 points.

Please review how the tournament format will be. It’s designed to get more teams more games on the back end. Keep in mind, once we get to the tournament rounds, the games will be 10 minute running quarters to give the kids an extra break each half. One thing is clear, they aren’t in game shape…yet.

An apology for putting the address down for the actual B&G Club. To make it worse, the building they have open to the community is not called the community center. The building with the gyms is called the community center. It’s backwards, and I put the wrong address down. Luckily, it’s only two blocks away. For clarification, the league will be held there each week.

Looking forward to week two.

Update on rosters and schedule

28 Sep 2010 / Comments Off / in Fall League/by Jim R

Still pushing to get enough players to securely have 10 teams, so registration will continue through Wednesday night/Thursday morning as noted in the email sent on Sunday night. We have a number of kids who have expressed they are playing and/or their coach has called. I’m trying to get them all in. Last year we turned kids away at the last minute.

If I don’t get the kids who have expressed late interest, we’ll stick with eight teams. Keep in mind, last year we had six teams of ten players each, and due to Colts’ games, homework, injuries, and etc, we still had a couple of teams that needed subs.

Stay tuned here for roster and schedule updates, but you’ll get an email as I publish them.

Thanks for playing. It’s a good league!
