Fall League Update
Hello everyone,
First of all thanks for registering to play in the Metro Indy Fall League. It’s been a growing league each year, increasing from 60 participants last year to 79 so far this year. The deadline for entry was set for tomorrow, but there are seven players who either through their school coach or parent have said they are playing, whom have yet to register.
It does create a little complication in that once we get over 80, we have to move up to ten teams. I’m going to take entries until Wednesday, and I’m pushing to get 90 kids. As a result the complete schedules and rosters will be posted by Thursday at lunch, and it will be on the http://metroindybasketball.com website.
For those trying to plan next week, the game times are 6pm, 7pm and 8pm, and each team will play two games during those game times. There is some give and take based on getting some rest in between games. I’m encouraging everyone to be at the gym 30 minutes before their first game starts every week…please.
If for some reason you can’t make it to a weekend, please call your coach or email me here well in advance.
The increased numbers have also caused us to change the venue to Noblesville Boys and Girls’ Club Community Center, which is in front of Noblesville Middle School and just behind Connor Courts/McDonald’s. The address is:
1448 Conner Street
Noblesville, IN 46060
Conner Street is also State Road 32, which runs through the heart of Noblesville. It’s about a half mile west of SR 37, and it’s just east of the main Boys and Girls’ Club building.
We are using only license IHSAA officials, and the core of who we use are tournament officials. That means they all worked at least a sectional. From there, two of them have worked the IHSAA state finals, so we are in good hands. They will call it more like a summer game, and as it stands now, we have hired three man crews, so they can prepare too for their upcoming season.
This league has grown every year, and it’s been a mixture of talented kids, good officials to maintain game like conditions, and having coaches with experience who know how to keep it fun while making sure these play together as much as possible. We will be having this league for years to come, so we hope everyone has a great time in getting ready for the season.
If there are any questions, start by emailing here. Please put your phone number in the email if you need me to call.
Take care.
Jim Reamer
